The Best Life Behavior Lab - 6 week Class at Growlerz
Understand your dog, work through everyday challenges, and create a life where they can thrive.
Service Description
Does your dog pull on leash, jump, bark, struggle to settle, or demonstrates another behavior you are struggling with? Maybe training has helped for a while, but the behavior keeps returning. Or perhaps you simply want to understand your dog better and give them a life that helps them thrive. This class starts by looking beneath the behavior. Why does it make sense to your dog? What might they need or be communicating? Would a better outlet, a change in their environment, or a new skill help? We’ll explore the canine ethogram—the range of behaviors dogs naturally do—and learn to read body language with the individual dog in front of us in mind. Each week, you and your dog will try practical ways to make room for sniffing, exploring, foraging, playing, resting, making choices, and solving problems. We’ll also work on the everyday behaviors that matter to you, with training plans shaped around your dog’s needs. When dogs have opportunities to do what comes naturally, challenging behaviors may become less frequent or easier to manage. You may discover what a behavior is accomplishing for your dog and find an outlet that works better for both of you. Along the way, you’ll build a deeper understanding of each other—and have some fun. As Mary Oliver asked, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” Let’s help our dogs live theirs fully, too.
